The toned MS-67 Iowa in the Goldberg sale

BearBear Posts: 18,953 ✭✭✭
Its now mine. Nice to hear Wondercoins opinion that it is a lock 68. In any event the color

was just astonishing and well worth the money to me. I chased a terrific Colombia toned Half MS-68

but at 7000 I dropped out. I had heard that the eventual winner was prepared to go 5 figures

on behalf of his client.

I thank you. I was active at the auction, I got the Susquicentenial Half in MS-65,

an 1874 Liberty Seated Half with arrows in PR-66 Cameo and finally a wonderful

Grant Comm Dollar in MS-67. All in all an eventful auction for me.

Someone has slyly been putting together a wonderful commem set, I think...

RC, I dont believe that I will ever compleate the set. I just love to look at wonderfully toned

high grade commems. I just dont think I care to spend the money for the Isabella and Lafayette.

Who knows, I could win the California Lottery and then off I will go.

I heard of a nice ms65 Lafayette at the auction... Did you have a go?
  • BearBear Posts: 18,953 ✭✭✭
No, I just didnt care for the toning. I bought a Norfolk from Larry Shepherd some time ago

in MS-68 with light even irridescent coloring around the obverse and reverse

that would just bring tears to your eyes. If that puppy is ever put in an auction,

we will see a real cat fight take place.
