Yeah...someone couldn't find a 1909-S without the VDB so they took a VDB and removed it to fill the hole in their collection. The only trace of ANYTHING you'll find is a trace of bullshirt in the seller's description! What a nimrod!

The seller, aucpro, was interviewed by Griff on eBay radio a while back. I listened to it. Seems like a nice guy.

The mint removed the designers initials from many dies which had already been prepared when the design was changed. At least on some of the Philly coins there can be a faint remnant of the initials.

In the past I have seen at least one 1909-S Lincoln that still showed a few traces of the VDB from a reworked reverse die so I believe it is possible. Can't see anything in those photos though.
