What's the oldest submission you have out?

I have an economy out that was received 11/10/03. Before I get on the phone with customer service I wanted to see how others were stacking up. There is one coin in there that may be requiring outside consultation to determine authenticity, I'm hoping that's the case but still....

    Economy 6 Jan
    Modern 6 Jan/12 Jan/27 Jan
    Error 6 Jan
    Economy Regrade 6 Jan

As I said, best to ladder your submission so whatever the grading timeframe, you always have one almost done!

March 15th, 2002. My submission was lost inside of PCGS- not the Post Office. PCGS wrote a quick check but I sure do miss a couple of those coins. PCGS's check can't make up for my loss of them.

I still hold out hope that the PCGS crook will return them to his or her boss and they'll make their way back to me.

    modern (19 coins) recv'd 12/2

called last week and was told that they were still in grading!image

I thought there was a chance to get at least one of these back before FUN or at least by the time the show was over! Turn around was listed at around 35 or 40 days and as soon as they reached that time PCGS posted a longer return time!!! The girl at PCGS also told me that all submissions are business days and not calendar days. Is this something new?

  • Hey Pat,

I had NGC send me someone else's submission once. Maybe the same thing happened at PCGS? I recognized the owners name a dealer down here in Florida from the slip in the box so I gave him a call and sent them on their way. My submission showed up a day or two later from NGC. As far as I remember neither one of us bothered to call NGC over it.

I will cross my fingers that your coins show up. There are some coins that are just not replaceable. I also hope that it's only just a mistake and they weren't taken deliberately!

    two moderns received on 11/13/2003

weird thing is there was a third modern invoice sent in the same package that was graded on 12/12.
  • I have a potential downgrade coin in there since 10/14. I think Clakamas has one there much longer.

    11/26/03 for 5 Economy crossovers
11/26/03 for 6 Economy raw gradings

Both were submitted during the long, long ago euphoric time when PCGS briefly got Economy times back down to 35 days.
    When in doubt, don't.
