Here's where I lived when I was in North Carolina.

Had to move out, though. The place was a real dump.

Not quite! We live in a 65-foot mobile home. Don't have any pictures of it. You're not missin' anything.

Cool house, Lloyd. It almost makes me pine for the Isle again. Is your shop in the same building?

  • SHOP? no shop .... although there's some dairy sheds out the back, old stone efforts, that we're going to convert to offices and storage, and landscape the farm yard. The house was apparently a coach stop in the 1700's. You'll see like a small lay by/parking area outside. The unseen house on the left used to be the inn. The bit attached to the side, on the right, was built as an undertakers. I think there used to be a big gap there with access to the yards.

The "unseen house" I don't understand. Is it to the left, but out of the picture, or does it not exist anymore? And the coach stop is the left part of the structure with 2 storeys?

I like old houses/buildings. I like that historical link to the past. Sort of like coins...

  • Unseen = out of picture..... two storeys = coach house.

I've had a plan - we could do apartments in the farmyard and have darkside druid gatherings during the summer months, you know pray to the pagan gods and all that....

Wybrit could teach me ranching - a bunch of gypsies left 5 horses in my field two years ago...

    Would that be a vacation?

Lloyd, what do you make of the small section of wall attached and perpendicular to the left corner of the coach house? It's also attached to the stone wall along the street (except for a small walkway/gate). Do you think there used to be a structure there, perhaps wooden?

Since this area was an inn for a long time, what do you think of the possibilities of finding loose change around? Perhaps there are a few caches waiting for you and your metal detector?

This is a picture of my house before the addition was built. We added a cardboard box off to the left of the newspaper box for a computer room.

2 views of my house. You can see the neighbor's house to the left and the small apartment building to the right.

    image

    image

edited to add: My house is a relatively roomy 1500 sq. feet, as it does have the second story (very large compared to some, though our neighbor's house is much bigger). There are only a couple inside doorways where my husband (6 feet tall even) bumps his head--it was one of the reasons we picked this place...less trauma. The little red car to the left belongs to our neighbor, I can't remember what it is, but they also own a bright red Ford Mustang (!) which fits in that spot with about 2 inches to spare on either side. To the right you can see our garage (a real rarity in our neighborhood), and the front of our minivan sticking out a bit. I don't really know much about the tree, but it is pruned aggressively periodically by the housing agency image

The comment was more directed at the color the the socks. I usually wear socks even with sandals for , uh, olfactory reasons.

I admit, I am also a member of the socks and sandals crowd. Of course I've been known to wear my Birks outside during the winter up here on the tundra.

I wouldn't want to spend enough time outside my apartment to take a picture of it for fear of random gunfire.

You're not missing much anyway. Typical ghetto brick units, nestled quietly between the bus station, a trailer park and the highway.

All we need is a pawn/gun shop to make the experience complete! image
