I am going to Twinsfest tomorrow at the Metrodome. The show goes 5:30-8:30 I believe.
Last year did not see many vintage cards....hope that will change this year! Anyone from

I'm from Minny originally, but not going to be there. I heard it is extremely COLD up there right now..brrrr.....

If you find any raw NM/MT or better Vikings cards from the 60s or 70s for a good price, please consider buying them and I will pay you in return. Usually these cards go for a premium in the Twin Cities already, but see if you can find anything. Well-centered and pack fresh. I'll pay a premium.

Wish I was going. I remember getting to set up and sell cards with a my dad's friend at the Metrodome in the mid-80s and having a great time. I remember screwing up and selling off a lot of my football cards to some dealer and I know it had a few Montana rookies in them. I also remember some vintage basketball that I bought from some dealer for next to nothing and then re-selling. Baseball was king and basketball and football weren't even on the radar.

I was thinking of going to the show myself, but I am looking for older hockey and I have my doubts about it. Anyone have any idease on the possibility of any hockey being there?

There will be a hockey expo during the NHL all-star weekend. If you have a chance at finding vintage hockey, it will be there. I still give you a 50/50 chance at best.

I won't hold my breath. It is so hard to find, but I will be attending that one. Is that one in the River center?

I collect pre-1968 hockey and if you see any older hockey I would be shocked. I've never had much luck finding hockey there and I've been going for the past few years.

I hope I'm wrong.

I went, and as usual, only about 10 vintage card dealers and of
them, only the usual suspects with decent stuff. They had some
very cool Jerseys from the HOF though including Lou Gehrig's
1939 Jersey on display! About froze my arse off waiting outside
to go in with only 10 minutes before the opening bell! This one
is definitely my last one! I did not see many vintage anything
let alone Hockey. Mostly, everyone was overloaded with "just"
Minnesota team players...which in of itself, ok, but, not everyone
person that lives in Minnesota collects Minnesota teams! Cried
when I watched a guy sell a nicely centered EX+ to EX/MT 1953
Topps Mickey Mantle for $450 !!!! Like Maxwell Smart used to
say..."....Missed it by that much!" Later! Tony
