purely - tipping him off here can do some good. It can shut his auctions down rapidly, before anyone else gets cheated. eBay retains the item pages for a while, so the closed auctions can still be used to prove his guilt.
I tipped him off so he wouldn't rip anyone else off. Sorry that upsets you. It's in Ebay history, he didn't get away with anything. If I would have tipped him off and he canceled an auction that you were bidding on, I'd be your new best friend. Collectors can get ripped like that and leave the hobby, like that guy that got taken for like a grand on that Sosa bat that someone had posted not too long ago. That dude was spending Bucks, and now he's gone. Cause' he got taken. Never to bid on yours or my auctions again. bash me all you want, but I am standing behind what I did. I'm on your team man, not his!
Still no response from PSA? Anyone heard anything from a rep or Joe O.?
Anyone who has images and auction data from Ebay relating to this jerk needs to archive it now as there is a chance it will be needed later in any state or federal investigation. It may be months before the case is made in court and who knows what Ebay info will be lost by then.
My humble legal opinion is that both state and federal cases can be made. PSA may push for both as they won't know who can get to the courthouse first. Remember that there is a chance this guy has no binding ties to a community, which means he can run before the authorities indict and arrest him. The bad news is that this is the type of crime that can be reintroduced by thief at a new location. Should this happen after some authority gets involved, then it is imperative that if the scam artist is found out again by this board, he should not be tipped off (i.e., find out about the auction in question and forward the info to the authority that should be pursuing the case by then).
Also, has anyone confirmed that Ebay is aware of and has read this thread. It would be nice to get an acknowledgement so that no one can backtrack and say they were not aware until it was "too late".
If PSA won't respond, then we can make the postal inspector aware of the situation as well as contact the FBI agent that was handling the WIWAG case. I believe the PSA rep that handled that case has left that position.
Any comments? I just want to get the legal options in our sites as I don't think we have to wait if PSA does not move at least as to the federal case.
All I was saying was, it'd be easier for the authorities to bag this bum if he didn't see it coming...suppose the 2K card was his only big sale, and he refunded the owner and got the card back before anyone could do anything about it. That might make a difference between a felony and a misdemeanor, due to cost. Personally I think letting authorities handle this the best they can without interference from anyone else (including those with the best of intentions) is easily the smartest way.
I bought a Sammy Sosa Leaf PSA 9 card from this crook. The card is not worth that much but the main principle is to stop these crooks to do business on ebay. Here is a scan of the card I received. Since reading through this thread I have found out that the psa slab is fake. I have emailed him recently for a refund but he did not respond to any of my emails. I have contacted the RCMP to file a complaint that this person has committed fraud. I have emailed ebay about this issue and hopefully his account will be suspended and prevent any of us from getting ripped off again. I would like any ebayers that have any additional evidence to please email to me so that this crook can be put behind bars.
I would not jump to the conclusion that PSA is not involved. The a**hole seller is now NARU. He has no neg. feedback lately so the NARU had to come from somewhere.
edited to add - Now he is not NARU. He was yesterday. What the heck is going on?
packcollector - He was NARU and Sat. and Sun. He must of somehow got reinstated. He is after all a "powerseller" and we know they can do no wrong. Ebay can be such a joke...
I doubt he got reinstated. Ebay probably is in the process of investigation and put a hold on his account. They must have taken some action because all his auctions seem to have been pulled.

I'll take the cards & flowers when I'm living and the BS when I'm dead!
