I collect AOL disks and tins, there is an estimated 4500 different designs for each of them,AOL themself dosen't even know how many different designs they have. The floppy disks from the late 80's when AOL was called Quantom something can go for pretty high on eBay.
Was into rare LP`s until a few years ago. Still have almost all of them and the pride of the collection are some rare Jimi Hendrix and Django Rienhardt LP`s that where released in the 50`s. In case you never heard of Django Rienhardt, most people haven`t. He is one of the best, some say the best, guitar player in jazz! He died about 50 years ago of a stroke. His best stuff, at least my favorite, is from the mid to late 1930`s. http://www.redhotjazz.com/django.html
Rocks and semi-precious gemstones. We like to mine our own crystals and are rockhounds. Here's one of the big clusters we mined from our last trip. This photo, of course, by no means shows the true beauty.
Bad hard drives... most are "self made" hehehe, I have a 3 foot high stack of 6.4 gig Western Digital Hard Drives in the corner of my room, and not a one of them is any good... I also collect broken drum sticks, I have about a dozen from different friends, and some of my own... including an aluminum tenor mallet and a wood tenor mallet that took me about 3 hours to break... cheap *** wood... in the past, I've also been a Collectible Card Game player... I've played most major games, Star Wars CCG, Star Trek CCG, Magic: The Gathering, PokeMon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Dragon Ball Z:CCG and I've helped my friend a time or two play testing a CCG of his own... loads of fun

Legacy Unix workstations mostly old Sun Sparcs. All are running and actually doing something useful (DNS, mail server, web server). Current longest uptime is something over 370 days.
The collection above has spawned a collection of Unix operating systems that now includes:
HP/UX Solaris (various releases) AIX Linux (various flavors) FreeBSD
I collect US paper Currency (in case you didn't know that by now) and old pocket watches. The US Currency is what attracts me to CU. The pocket watches I use as my actual time piece for daily use. I'm not talking the cheap cr@p pocket watches you can buy at Walfart, but older watches from the days they were wound up and don't run on batteries. They're real attention getters.. people wonder why I don't wear a wrist watch. I just don't like how they look!
Dead Presidents, like Franklin, Grant, Jackson, Hamilton, Lincoln, and Washington!
Seriously, I collect beer steins. I try to get Anheiser-Busch's collector steins every Christmas and St. Pat's Day. I also have one I bought when I was in Germany from Munchen (Munich) -- home of the Oktoberfest!

Antique furniture and china! Future generations will hopefully appreciate craftsmanship, quality and a work of art! First we have to instill these qualities in our children and their children! This begins with them living in that environment!

JUST SAY NO TO WANNABES! They lurk and prey on unwitting collectors in chatrooms!
I have a small collection of fine art photographs. The earliest is a Marcus Aurelius Root 1/2 plate daguerreotype from about 1845. I also produce fine art photographs myself. See the top of page 80 of the January 2001 POPULAR PHOTOGRAPHY for an example. I just bought a good digital camera and am finally going to get involved in that as well.
I might as well join in ... I collect minerals mostly some North Carolina stuff but I specialize in selenites. I also have a fair sized collection of matchbook covers. But of course there are the coins (don't tell anyone, but most of the unslabbed ones are darkside!)
