  • Was into rare LP`s until a few years ago. Still have almost all of them and the pride of the collection are some rare Jimi Hendrix and Django Rienhardt LP`s that where released in the 50`s. In case you never heard of Django Rienhardt, most people haven`t. He is one of the best, some say the best, guitar player in jazz!image He died about 50 years ago of a stroke. His best stuff, at least my favorite, is from the mid to late 1930`s. http://www.redhotjazz.com/django.html

  • I collect US paper Currency (in case you didn't know that by now) and old pocket watches. The US Currency is what attracts me to CU. The pocket watches I use as my actual time piece for daily use. I'm not talking the cheap cr@p pocket watches you can buy at Walfart, but older watches from the days they were wound up and don't run on batteries. They're real attention getters.. people wonder why I don't wear a wrist watch. I just don't like how they look!

I have a small collection of fine art photographs. The earliest is a Marcus Aurelius Root 1/2 plate daguerreotype from about 1845. I also produce fine art photographs myself. See the top of page 80 of the January 2001 POPULAR PHOTOGRAPHY for an example. I just bought a good digital camera and am finally going to get involved in that as well.
    All glory is fleeting.
  • I might as well join in ... I collect minerals mostly some North Carolina stuff but I specialize in selenites. I also have a fair sized collection of matchbook covers. But of course there are the coins (don't tell anyone, but most of the unslabbed ones are darkside!)

    1) Original edition books of chess tournaments (about 500)
    2) CDs of Grateful Dead concerts, circa 1967-1974 (about 1000, basically all of them)

There are 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who do not.
