FUN Shows thru 2010

There has been some talk about not having future FUN Shows in Orlando.

According to Mark Lighterman who is the current president of Fun the 2005 Show will be held in Ft Lauderdale.

From 2006 thru at least 2010 the Show will be back in Orlando, but it will be across the street in the new section of the convention center.
If It doesn't have great eye appeal, I don't want it.

That contradicts what 4 dealers that I've talked to say Cindy Grellman told them.

I'm surprised to hear that. Probably just a misunderstanding. Cindy Grellman is one lady that really has all her stuff together

    ArtR,

I was told last year at the show that it would be moved in 2005 for just one year.......after that, back to Orlando. Wish I could remember the reason for the move for the one year move ??image

Steve, from what I have been told the Convention Center was all booked for Jan 2005. If the new section of the Convention Center would have been completed they would have had the Show in Orlando.

I hope that they NEVER move the FUN. Orlando is great because it has all of the other attractions for the family who could care less about coins. Before the FUN leadership starts getting serious about moving the show out of Orlando, they should look at what happened to an ANA mid-winter that was held a couple of years ago in Ft. Lauderdale. It was one of the worst national shows ever. I have reservations about what might happen in 2005 for that reason. I hope that FUN will not be hurt too badly by that move.

Show promoters need to realize that you can't move shows all around and expect them to do well. They are also need to learn ONE bad show can set them back after years of progress. The New England Numsimatic Association ignored those rules, and paid for it dearly.

I live in Miami, a couple of miles from Ft Lauderdale. That said, Orlando is the right place for FUN, no doubt about it.image
