What about the sides of a Penny??

I was looking through a bunch of my pennies and I noticed a 1987 that is thicker on one side when I was looking at the side of penny. That basically means that it was struck harder on one side, right?

No. Depending upon the diff & strike, it means that the blank was tapered or the dies were slightly out of parallel or both.
