For some reason, 20 Marks have always been reasonably priced and they're very attractive.

I agree, why not buy these. Everybody is using Krause prices on gold coins and gold has gone up alot since the catalog came out and the Dollars value has dropped like a rock. These are a steal.image

The real secret investment is the 10 Marks. They always hold their own and it's rare for them to depreciate.

Excellent Dan image I've been doing something similar on my own, although I did get rid of the most expensive pieces (not according to Krause though image ).

Nick, an Indian ((head type) $2.50 (quarter eagle) is a gold US coin that's been minted between 1908 and 1929.They're only 4.18 gr (about half the weight of that 20 mark) but cost significantly higher, regardless of their condition. It's a really interesting incuse design by Bella Lyon Pratt (it also exists in $5.00 - half eagle). It replaced the well-known Coronet or Liberty design that was around since 1840.

The Hamburg design coupled with the Imperial eagle is very impressive!

I totally echo what laurent said! image
