LordM's "Workin' For The Holidays" giveaway (a combination Darkside/Liteside giveaway!) BR
![lordmarcovan](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/userpics/Y4LNGSOMMQNF/nPM6OLXXCVIWX.png)
Yep, here I am. At work. Christmas night. Worked Christmas Eve. Gonna be workin' New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day, too.
S'OK, though- I ain't complainin'. One of the first things you learn in the hospitality industry is to forget about the concept of "weekends" and "holidays". When the rest of the world is at play, you're workin', and vice versa. I do get to take a brief trip down to see Mom this weekend. We celebrate our birthdays together, since I'm December 28th and she's January 4th. Guess we'll do Christmas then, too.
Annnnnyway, I thought I'd put up a meager giveaway for you other poor schlubs who hafta work during the holiday season.
If you did, are doing, or will be doing any working on Christmas Eve, Christmas, New Year's Eve, or New Year's Day, let us know what kind of work you did or will be doing. You'll be entered into a random drawing to be held on New Year's Day (or a day or so afterward, if I'm busy). The winner will get an EF-AU-ish 1882-O Morgan dollar and a lovely, prooflike BU 2004 Australian 1-ounce .999 silver Kookaburra dollar.
(Sorry, but things like going to the fridge to get Uncle Bob another beer, or helping Mom load the dishwasher don't count, admirable deeds though they are.)
The Morgan's a bit scuffy but not totally hideous- hey, c'mon, it's a free Morgan dollar, fer cryin' out loud!
The "Kooky" part of the prize is one of the first coins struck with the 2004 date, as I received them from RNCHSN in October of '03. Apparently coins are like car models, now- the '04's have been in for a while! This sucker will knock your eyes out, thanks to the frosty "reverse-cameo" effect (the portrait and devices are brilliant and the fields are frosted). These coins make the Liteside Silver Eagles look almost plain and frumpy by comparison! Yours will come in a plastic holder which looks a little like an Airtite, (but not air tight.)
If you only want half the prize, I'll send the other coin to whomever you specify. (Or if you win but don't really need either prize, I'll send both coins to members of your choosing).
Braddick wins!

I'm running just now in your second giveaway, and I still hope to win in the first one
I worked at my usual work in Ministry of Agriculture of Israel during Christmas Eve. and Christmas because, you know in Israel don't celebrate that holiday.
We have now Hanukkah holidays, but the problem is that only kids have a vacation!
As for New Year---it really beats me, because I used to celebrate that holiday (the night from 31Dec-1 Jan) all my life also in Leningrad and also here in Israel, but the really problem is that also that holiday is not a holiday here, so I need to go to Tel Aviv at 5 o'clock at the morning at 31 on December! And also 1 on January I still need to go to work!! And I hate that fact!
And if you are interested what exactly I did at 24 and 25 on December, I tell you---I have checked irrigation's projects made by private companies to aplly them in local kibbyts, using our Ministry's financial support ---if you are really interested in it ...
Have a nice holidays and Happy New Year!!
-I worked Christmas eve and Christmas day and will New Years eve and New Years day (evening), traffic enforcement. Crashes; tickets and DUI's.
Do people drink and drive on Christmas?

I work in an undergound facility in the base command post. Technically it is classified as Command and Control. Our job is to react to any and all Emergency Actions Messages dealing with lots of stuff from DEFCON's to terrorist related stuff these days and pass on that information to the base commander.
We keep track of everything from 911 calls to Fire Department runs to Domestic Disputes, DUI/DWI, Red Cross notifications or whatever. We get notifications from the cops or direct calls and depending on what it is and the timeliness of it, brief wing leadership. We have the STU-III's (Secure Telephone Units) and other computer systems and stuff to help us out.
We're open 24/7 365. Like you LM, we work regardless of the holidays and enjoy our time off when we can get it.

Braddick...I thank you for your generosity. I PMed LM back and asked him to "split it 50/50" with the split at his discretion. You won, and I appreciate your generosity like I said, but at the same time, I cant "take it" from you. I would be honored if you'd take what you won, or at least split it 50/50.
