Maundy coinage is something that was on my "Nice, maybe someday" list but nothing I'd get to anytime soon. Now on a quater of the way there (or 40% on a per pence basis) so this is a great gift, thanks Cosmic!

For some reason, I've always wanted one of those Barbadoes pennies (and the Bermuda/Bahamas coins, too)... they're neat!

I'd like a proof. They did strike a few proofs of those, right? Probably not cheap, though. Closest I have is a very well-worn (and holed) Bermuda penny that I put on my vest. I can't complain- it cost me a buck or slightly less, in a bulk lot.

Looks like y'all swapped some cool stuff. I would've participated, but I was worried I might not have time to ship my end of the swap(s) on time, so I stayed out.

Interesting observation. That IS three ostrich plumes, just like the Prince of Wales emblem, now that you mention it! Maybe it's just coincidence that put it on top of a slave's head?

I'm not sure why it's there. I know it normally comes with the Welsh Legend "Ich Dien" instead of the English "I Serve". Most of the Welsh Regiments have it tatooed on them and it's on all the national sports gear. Maybe they made the Prince of Wales Governor of the Islands....

This is indeed a really cool coin that I also received from danglen in a giveaway that he held last summer. I'd like to say here that the initial parcel got lost and I've only mentioned it later in a totally different thread, but Dan noticed it and sent me a replacement !

I dont have any pictures but I am going to post what CanadianCoinGuy sent to me for our swap.........

First up is a 1973 Montreal Olympic Commem $5
then we have a beautiful rainbow toned British Columbie silver $
up next we get to a stunning DCAM Proof 1969 Cent
then we get to a nicely dark toned 67 commem dime(the one with the fish on it)
then comes a real nice AU 1983 Phillipines 1 Piso
then a 1980 Hong Kong $1
and lastly, a red and lustrous 1954 British W. Africa 1/10 penny

I think theres was something else in the pack, but I knocked everything off my desk and I prolly stuck it in a box as I was cleaning the mess.
