Unsolicited ebay user email

WondoWondo Posts: 2,916 ✭✭✭
I bought a 1900 PCGS64 Double Eagle this week on ebay and paid strong money for a commonish coin, CDN + 30%. image Anyway, the coin comes and it is everything advertised and more, super color, cartwheel luster, semi P-L. I am super pleased with my purchase and that I stretched. image

Today I get an unsolicted email from a ebay user I've never heard of which reads "you paid $350 too much for the coin". Nuthin' else !!!

Boy did that tick me off.imageimage

Don't these jerks have anything else to do? I am not gonna let him ruin my Christmas spirit.

I would love to hear your opinions about the buy, the email, and ebay's policies and controls.

Thanks.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all.
Wondo

Jeez... you bought the coin and not the plastic? You must have paid $350 too much!

Don't let if bother you. Probably a jealous loser who doesn't have a pot to piss in.

  • Sounds like you are pleased with the coin and satisfied with what you paid. Congrats.

The email is very strange. Did the sender send it through the eBay system or did they somehow get your email from somewhere else? I don't understand what the sender's intent is. If it was sent through the ebay system I would send them a copy. Otherwise just ignore it and enjoy your beautiful coin.image

I like what Russ said... now take pride in knowing you beat someone in what seems like a really nice piece... and then take a photo and share image

The email came through ebay's email forwarding system and the coin was a BIN so I didn't beat him out. image

    His ebay handle is breezywood.

I checked his past activity and it's inconsistant with my coin. I was gonna email back to him and get into an email shouting match, but I'd really rather vent here. image

  • Don't get upset because someone didn't like the price. If you enjoy the coin, who cares. Just delete the email and enjoy your coin.

  • Email him back and tell him you just sold it $500 more than what you paid.

If you are happy with the coin don't let it bug you. I sold some MS-64 $20 Libs this week to a major dealer at bid that were real pigs. In a hot gold market like this if all you want to pay is bid those are the kind of coins you get. Getting a coin that is a pleasure to look at is worth the extra money.

I email ebay people all the time. Don't see what the big deal is. If I see an auction that is an obvious rip off I might warn the bidder. Sometimes if I see someone bidding on my auctions and I have doubles I'll email them. No one has gotten mad about it and I've been able to sell quite a few coins. I assume they are happy with them. I've also had people email me. Have had a few jerks but overall people have been nice.
  • reply with...you bid $351 too little
