Should I or shouldn't I

I have the chance to buy this coin. 1958 was a very good year and proof coins of this type are scarce. Someone please convince me to purchase it.

  • Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty. I like it very much.

Buy it--even a mushroom needs a comfort coin every now and then.

Bill, there were no Proof Sets issued in 1958, only 1902, 1911, 1927, 1937, 1950, 1951, 1953 and 1970. The non-Proof Set proofs were issued in limited numbers for VIPs and the like. What I would like to know is how many were minted.

  • You absolutely should NOT buy it!!!

From what I've seen in these forums, you have quite enough pretty toys to keep yourself entertained with on these long winter evenings ... let someone else have the chance to enjoy beauty.

If it was summer I would say "go for it"!

Ajaan, you have not been stinting on your coin purchases lately but how is it possible to resist the quality and the beauty of the coins you find? Mushroom farming must be going well... (Did you ever have the feeling as you faced your class that that was mushroom farming?)image

Yes, 1958 is my birth year. Mrs ajaan loves the coin, so it's a go.

Coin arrived today, just in time to stuff my stocking with it. Veeerry nice! The coin isn't as colorful as the photo, but it has more cameo than the photo shows. Overall definitely a keeper.
