  • That's a neat little short set of coins. It would be fun to collect all the George VI coinage from that particular run of years.

If MD wants them bad enough, I hope he gets them.

  • I'm wondering what their approximate retail value would be.

Well, according to a recent Trends (16-29 Dec 2003)
    1937 Cent - MS65 $80
    1938 Cent - MS64 $32
    1939 Cent - MS64 $20
    1940 Cent - MS65 $55
    1941 Cent - MS64 $175
    1942 Cent - MS64 $275
    1943 Cent - MS64 $200
    1944 Cent - MS64 $550
    1945 Cent - MS65 (Best Known) $600
    1946 Cent - MS64 $35
    1947 Cent - MS65 $70
    1947 Maple Leaf Cent - MS64 $50
    1948 Cent - MS64 $150 / $225 (A to dent / A betw dent)
    1949 Cent - MS66 $100+ / $700+ (A to dent / A betw dent) (MS65 is highest listed in Trends)
    1950 Cent - MS64 $40
    1951 Cent - MS65 $225
    1952 Cent - MS65 $100

So, between $2757 and $3432 Canadian, depending on the variety of the 1948 and 1949. Converting these to that other currency will yield ~$2100 to ~$2600.

What will they sell for? Now that's another question.
