i wouldnt push. if its no bid then hell id push for it. maybe tweak it up a little more . but if theres a bid be fair like if you were the one bidding. but if its a guy that has done this to you numerous times and youve foudn this out then hell go after it and make sure he looses out on this auction.

Yes, do it. Just place a bid large enough to be high bidder then he can use the "closed early to sell to the highest bidder" option. eBay gets some fees for providing the venue, the seller saves a little money and you get to eliminate the competition.
OK, this is what I told him "Bill, that is an interesting question and I asked a friend about it and he said it is OK to do and if I bid a slight increment above the highest bidder then you can end the auction "with a sold to the highest bidder option".
