Serious Hockey or Wax Collectors

Hello folks:

Right now there is an auction on EBay for 13 unopened OPC hockey wax boxes that have caught my eye. The auction number is 2771997451. This auction peaked my intrest because the picture was the same as the one from the August Superior auction of a similar lot of boxes. I went to Superiors site and looked at the old auction (lot #506) and saw that this is the exact same pic and description as the ebay auction. The problem is the SUperior Auction went for $5600 and the ebay auction has a start price of $0.99 and no reserve and a BuyItNow of $1999.00.

Does anyone out there have any idea what this is all about?

Do a search in either this forum or the Sports Cards forum for one-day auctions. There seem to be a lot of these going around. I'm 99.9% sure that an email to the seller will result in a response from someone in the UK or Greece wanting you to send the money Western Union "once you see the package is moving" using their fictional carrier (Pegasus?). Caveat emptor.

Just seemed to go to be true. I bid on the auction on Superior but surrendered when it hit $3800.00.

Has anybody thought of an organized effort against EBAY, to get them to finally act on these known frauds?? There seems to be atleast one bad auction posted on this board every day.

I doubt that we could organize enough of us to have a good boycott.

what he does is collect all the emails from the people who ask a question or to be pre approved and sends out the form email after the auction is over.
