Year 2003 "Cherry Pick" highlights from the forum!!

keets

I just had some PM's with His Madness, Marty K.

What came to my mind were some of the really scintillating finds by forum members, me and Marty included. I thought it may be cool to share some pictures and pay homage to the great coins that have come to light in 2003 during this strong market.

My entries are the pictured Cleveland Commems which were counterstamped by the Western Reserve Numismatic Club. Others I know of are Marty's MS66Fbl Franklin, Don Heath's big DCAM SMS Kennedy and Russ' MS68DCAM Accented Hair Kennedy. Not to exclude anyone, those are just what come to my mind at the spur-of-the-moment.

Hopefully, we can get a really sweet gallery of pictures of some really mega-grade coins, rare in that regard, and also some rare issues that were plucked for a mere pittance.

Let's have some fun with this!!!!!!!!!!!

My coin was picked up by the buyer at PCGS, the only picture was a crappy one. So no picture for this puppy! But I know Russ has a picture of his!

I think my best was this 1850-O half dime I bought sight unseen as UNC. for about $200- NGC graded it MS64. mike

RGL

Less than $25 for the pair raw (my sig coin is the reverse of the SMS DCAM):

$2.75 ... PCGS 1957 PR-67 CAM (45/8, rarest '50s Jeff in CAM):

Pricey, given my reputation, at $71 in the raw, PCGS 1938 PR-67:

$10 pre-CAM designation PR-67 crackout, now PCGS 1960 PR-68 DCAM:

Al,

I think it's been a pretty good cherry season for all of us. Here are a few highlights of mine.

itsnotjustme

Raw Ike Dollar, 11 for $18, this 76-P T2 graded MS67, another MS66.

Russ

My second best score in 2003:

Purchased raw at a flea market stupidly cheap. Graded out as MS65 at PCGS.

I won this slab for $6 including shipping!

Two months ago one on ebay sold for over $160 with intense bidding. A super Rare sample slab for less than most of the state quarter samples sell for.
