I'm not sure what they are but it reminds me of "premiums" given out with a purchase at gas stations in the 60s.

I don't know but I have some coins like this myself. However, they are a commemorative set of Christopher Columbus Quincentennial anniversary coin thingys. They are 24 kt gold plated silver I believe.There is no denomination on them so I think they are medallions. These are probably the same. Some type of commemorative set of medallions. That's my guess.

I have a set similar to them. I think they are bronze or something like that. They are all on a piece of cardboard with some sort of shrink wrap or something around it. Can't remember where they were/are from (I think Reader's Digest or something similar) and I'm just being too lazy to go look.

These were made by the Franklin mint and put out in 1968. Quote from Franklin Mint catalog. "The 26mm bronze issue was distributed in the Mr. President Game and the Famous Facts and Faces Game."

Mintage figures 1377324 pieces. Commercial bronze, 26mm.

Coppercoins is right. I was a Shell dealer for 35 years and these were some of the prizes awarded either by being an "instant winner" or filling pieces in a game board.
Two of the games I remember were "Americana" and "Facts and Faces"

I still have a couple of bags of the bronze Presidents and one set of the United States (48) medals which I framed in plexiglass.

Customers tended to throw away their duplicate aluminum game pieces into the outside garbage can which I routinely collected because the collector in me couldn't bear to see them going to the landfill site.

They were nicely struck pieces and interesting to look at and I still have a coffee can full of these.

They are not valuable and I am sure these will be turning up for eons as we did give away many sets.

These make a fascinating series that apparently gets very little collector attention. The
aluminum issues come in three different varieties from distinct sets of dies though at least
the third set probably wasn't complete. Most of these are distressingly common but the
"winner" tokens are just never seen. In addition to having been made in tiny numbers
there was a very high redemption rate for them and it appears they were destroyed when
redeemed. The "instant winner" tokens are occasionally seen. These could be redeemed
for the complete bronze set and many of these were issued.

All were made by the Franklin Mint.
