06 looks MS63 R or R/B
They probably graded the 03 MS63. So are we suppose to guess the true grade or what is on the slab?
03= MS60 RB
06= MS61 RB

GREEN PCI... this is back when they were respectable... if not much tighter than current PCGS. A lot of people have had luck upgrading, even by a few points, recently... gold PCI is what's terrible...

Guess that really means I got NONE right huh.
Those great pics sure help to narrow the grade down fo sho.
My reason for the grade I gave the 03 was because of the different color change in the fields directly in front of the Indian on the obverse and around one cent on the reverse. A long time dealer friend told me to always look for this when looking at copper coins. He said that this darkness was a dead give away that the coin had seen some minor circulation even if the coin shows very little if any wear to your eye.
Of course we all were at a dis-advantage. A picture is not the same as holding the coin in hand. Still this was interesting.

<< <i>Study the reverse, in particular the words one cent. They show signs of wear, which I think should make it a 58. >>
Any more specifics on what exactly is the giveaway?
