    Just worn IMHO. I had a weak D where the coin in VF+ had a D about as strong as the bottom of your D.

    Yes, this coin is mostly just heavily worn. I've seen a couple of 1922-D, weak D cents, where the letter was only visible a certain angles. One of those coins was in slab, and was not a true 1922 "Plain." Shame on the slab company!
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?
