teacher is one of the best. He dosen't give himself enough credit. I've been in his class the last two years. I would do #3, but I will be teaching a class myself with Mark Borkardt on the Second U.S. Mint.

I don't think Keith Love will be available that week. Prior engagement I believe. That is not to say he will or will not give out ICG SAMPLE slabs for the class. Alas, you won't be a student anymore, but rather A TEACHER(?). Congrats.

No matter what class you decide to take, the week will be a highlight of your numismatic career. You'll learn a lot (even from Mr. NJCoincrank) and make some new friends. Colorado Springs is a fun town and you'll never want of things to do for a single moment.

I'm teaching both weeks this year (U.S. Colonial Coins during week 1, Numismatics of the 19th century during week 2) and would be happy to have anyone from the boards in class. Airplanenut and that Kiefer kid have both been in my class in the past.

Hey Coincrank -- you might even get a kick out of the week 2 class, don't ya think?

Rick you should do a bull session on patterns. That would be something new and exicitng. Heck, I did a bull session last year on collecting old slabs and this year will be doing one on sample slabs.

Here's an anecdote from the ANA Summer Seminar I don't think I have told here before.

The first year I went, I got there the day before class started and went to the ANA Library to read Kessler's book on Fugio cents. While I was reading, Pistareen and Ken Bressett sat down at the other end of the table and started discussing contemporary colonial counterfeits while looking at examples one of them brought.

This was the first time I ever was around people who were numismatic scholars and not just collectors. I thought I knew a bit about coins, but eavesdropping on them was a real revelation! It was like thinking the ocean is 12 feet deep because you've only ever explored it from the beach, then finding out it is miles and miles deep once you go out farther.

In many situations, people exploit their knowledge of coins for monetary gain. But at the Summer Seminar, the leading experts try to teach you everything they can and answer any question solely to help you learn more.

I guess it was rude to eavesdrop on their conversation, though.
