Back in 1970, the Kellogg's sets were a revelation in my neighborhood as well. My mom finally got so tired of me pestering her about buying more and more boxes of cereal that she finally caved in and paid the five dollars that it took to order the set by mail. I still have that set. I have it in a binder and (for the most part) it's certainly not gradable. But it's the only set that I keep in my business office. As most of you know, I've fallen in love with the 71's and have bought, graded, and sold a lot of 1970 Kellogg's to support my 71 habit. I like the Kellogg's sets because I don't have the patience to put together a large Topps set, but at the same time, I like a nice mix of commons and stars. The Kellogg's sets have it all---except Aaron. The football set is missing Namath and Starr too.
I was so disappointed when I discovered you couldn't order the 71 set by mail. Subconsciously, maybe that's what drives me to that set today.
