Conder101 and all: Update on PCC slabs

There was a thread here a week or two ago about a new slabbing service (on ebay of course) called PCC Premier Certified Coins. Most were graded MS-70 and my set of state quarters arrived in the mail today. I would grade them a MS-67. The slab is identical to the Coinland samples from a year ago:



But with a different label and silver size dollar inner shell with a foam ring around.

Is the slab sealed? Looks like it is.

Yes it is sealed and has a strong seal around the rim.

These guys give slabs a bad name. Thank god we have PCGS.

I got taken for twenty PCC coins on ebay a while back. Somehow I misread the auction and thought I was getting PCGS.

I am sorry to hear that hoardmonster. The slabs do look different, but for a beginning colelctor, they might not know. Part of the reasons for this kind of thread is to let people know of these new services in case they come across them so they know.

If you are TTT'ing it for me OK I've seen it. Mine just arrived in the mail today. Bought them out of the same dutch auction you did. I did pick up one thing from the thread though, the auction didn't identify the name of the company.

That foam ring scares me. It looks like it might have the potential of giving off harmful gasses just like PVC. Do they claim the substance is inert?

They don't claim anything. I know of no website or guarantee of grade, authenticity etc. (I do know the coin is real though.)
