What is sad is reading the "ME" page of the highest bidder, although it is brief, gives a bit of insight into this person and makes this whole sitsuation tragic and sad.
Maybe i'll sell a VERY expensive toned coin on ebay, and use pictures, of my own, of natural, and artificial toning from a coin I bought in 2003. I want an educated consumer. There will be glaring examples of coins sold to the unwary public, that should be avoided at all costs. You know for comparison purpose. Of course no names are to be used. Now the coin I put up will be extremely expensive, so nobody will buy it, and my ad will stay on ebay for quite a while.
Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground.

The last time I engaged in auction interference was when I tried to warn a guy about a disgustingly whizzed and re-colored NTC Proof-65 Red 1877 Indian Cent which he was paying over $5000 and was likely worth less than $1000. Probably was just a polished up business strike. His response to me was that he owns plenty of NTC coins and they all look great to him. And he went on to accuse me of trying to scare him off so I could get the coin cheaper for myself.
That's when I took the position that these sellers and buyers are indeed made for each other. God bless 'em, may they enjoy their wonderful collections until the day they go to sell.
Tonelover, I know the feeling. Therse's a local guy here that is buying up high grade morgan's as fast as he can, the problem he is buying over-graded , cleaned NTC coins and spending big bucks. Dates like 93-cc, 89-cc , 84-s, 79-cc etc. I have tried twice to tell him, but he gets offended and mad.

LMAO, Actually the more I see this coin in question I ask myself this..... is there much difference in this Silver Eagle and the ones that are 1 month, or 1 year, or 2 years old that have been stored in the right (or wrong) environment and slabbed by the major grading services?
IMO not much. Of course the other ones 'LOOK" much more naturally toned, although that's about it imo. And yes I know they are almost pure silver and it seems that is the justification for their rather quick wild looking colors. I have some that have never gained any color.. of course my aren't stored in the "right (or wrong) environment.
I guess I'll have to get some pretty red or blue envelopes and bury them under the damp porch or set them on top of the water heater.

You can't email them unless you do it through Ebay. How do you email them through Ebay if you're not signed in (other than creating a dummy/shill account)?
Some people spend tons of money for those brutal multi-colored painted eagles. So I guess they see something as ugly as this AT coin and they can't bid fast enough....Oh well---I guess there are some born every day and as long as they are happy.....
What ticks me off is that I just sold a bunch of rainbow toned ASE. They were even slabbed by NGC & ANACS. Those coins didnt even break the $100 mark. What I want to know is where are these buyers when I am listing coins. Jeez.
It is sad to see new collectors get taken to the cleaners. I have bought an AT coin or two and had to learn the hard way. But $200 is a bit much for an unslabbed coin with very questionable toning.
I am a newbie but I have seen enough on this forum to recognized a tonecoin2003 AT before I looked at the auction. Thanks to you peeps for the lessons before I paid to learn.
I can think of a dozen reasons not to have high capacity magazines, but it's the reasons I haven't thought about that I need them.

Brian,
You make it sound like it's illegal or immoral to interfere with commerce.

I suppose that depends what you say. I invited her to join the CU forum and sent her a link to this thread. Is that OK? If not, I apologize.
