Or take a ride out of Vegas (I think it's RT 70) all the way down there where you will find a trailer park smack dab in the middle of the desert.

<< <i>let's also ignore the fact the when a grading company with a buy back policy assigns the highest possible grade to a card that is now worth $100,000+ that they will give that card more scrutiny than a Colombian drug lord going through U.S. Customs with a full body cavity search.! >>

can i see THAT GUARANTEE IN WRITING?
psa wont buy back a misgraded $400 card.
they certainly wouldn't spend on a greater sum.

  • << <i>Grading Warranty Costs. We offer a warranty covering the coins and sportscards we authenticate and grade. Under the warranty, if any coin or sportscard originally graded by us, which is later submitted to us for re-grading in the same tamper resistant holder in which it was placed at the time we last graded it, receives a lower grade upon that resubmittal, we will offer either to purchase the coin or sportscard or pay the difference in value of the item at its original grade as compared with its lower grade. Similarly, any coin or sportscard originally graded by us, which subsequently is determined to be not authentic, obligates us to purchase the coin or sportscard. We accrue for estimated warranty costs based on historical trends and related experience. To date our reserves have proved to be adequate. However, if warranty claims were to exceed those reserves, we would incur additional charges that would adversely affect our operating results. To date our reserves have proved to be adequate. >>

This is directly from their 10K/A. Despite the fact that it is in writing, I get the feeling that they seldom apply this so called warranty. They are offering an opinion when they grade a card. Seems to me that they are judge and jury. How do you prove to them without breaking out the card-thus destroying the evidence, that a card that they deem suitable for the assigned grade, is actually improperly graded or altered? Buy backs are probably weighted by how much noise you make or threaten to make. If they are in a position to write a check and is the misgraded card extremely obvious where it completely contradicts the criteria for the grade.
  • I beg to differ with you RobE. Area 51 is a government controlled outfit. The problem is that you assumed that I was referring to the U.S. government.

Tell us more pc about the problem with the $400 card. Was the issue on the judgment of the grade or did they agree it was misgraded and flat out refuse to buy it back? Details please!

And finally, MyBigToe, when you earlier wrote, "What a shock, another big dollar card that is altered and residing in a PSA holder.", you dangled a pretty big matzah ball out there. But I also think you’re over reacting a little bit on my earlier message. When I wrote about you and your pals chasing down some poor putz into the night and gang raping him, I meant in a good way! You’re a real go-getter, someone with a lot of spunk, someone I’d want on my side, and I also paid you quite a complement about having that kind of virility, which isn’t trivial, especially after a long and arduous chase through the dark forest.

The answer is irrelevant but let's just say that it would make a nice coffee table book, if one does not already exist.

  • There are some shocking revelations in this thread !!!!

    Dammit, alarming ones!!

    No scary ones !!!!

No, nothing new on the card and cast of charcters involved. Heard it all before

I'm refering to the Area 51 allegations that the Govt. is not involved. The aliens get to you? The probing enjoyable?

Just going by what Mr.Emory said to me.I cited my source so go check with him,he lives by Area 51.
If I'm 100% wrong it's just because I'm going by what I was told.

He said the Government is not involved or even allowed in the facility. The military is not involved or allowed there either.

Supposidly it's a whole separate agency that is above the US Government and US military.
