Viva Blast white commemoratives!

I already posted this pretty pretty in the buy/sell forum, but the pictures turned out so nice I just feel the need to share. Enjoy! (except people who like rusty gunky coins, who are welcome to scoff and insult my baby)

    Mmmmm...Classic commems...

I never met one I didn't like. If I could take a half-way decent picture that isn't out of focus I'd post some. image

    Cheers,

One of the better looking "white" examples of this very much over-cleaned/over-dipped issue. I'd still rather have an original coin, however. This issue and the Lincoln/Illinois seems to be very difficult to find in truly original condition.

    Oh yeah...it's a POP-1 to boot!

"Columbia facing left and scattering flowers. Behind her is a naked child holding a large cornucopia, symbolic of the many resources of the West. The Golden Gate and the rays of a setting sun are present in the background, while seen below the sun, seperated by a wave motif is the date, 1915."

    Go well.

It's impossible to tell from the photographs but it looks like you did a decent job of dipping that coin to remove every trace of toning. I can't spot any of the luster impairments that you might find on a coin that has been dipped. At least they're not visible in the photograph.

    Good photographs!

There's a very light brown toning on the obverse and you can see it in the close up photo. Actually I didn't dip this one, it was quite nice the way it was when I bought it in 2001. I kinda wish I tried for an upgrade, but I really really "need" a boat.........

You're slipping Iwog. You didn't dip that baby to remove every hint of toning image.

Beautiful coin and one I'd be proud to own.

That's from someone that likes what you call "rusty gunk" (inaccurate as far as the rusty is concerned) but we've been there, done that image.

By the way...the forum police are out and about so in spite of how much you like the pictures announcing that the coin is on the BST forum could be seen as a not so subtle violation of forum rules regarding selling your wares on the coin forum image. I know, I know, you just could wait until the coin was sold before showing off the pictures (you rascal image).

Wow- there's some great stuff here! Y'all have some beauties!

This is all I have in the way of white commems, and it ain't even Uncirculated.

Didn't cost me anything but about a minute and a half of diggin', though. image

What is amazing is that it came out of the ground pretty much like you see it here-
it was been cleaned to remove the loose dirt, but it was nearly white when I found it.
