"Registry Quality" versus "Forum Member Quality" coins.

When selling or offering a coin on these forums do you make sure the coin is nice and something you have no doubts about the grade ? A few coins have been sold to members here and special care is taken before they are even offered. If a small doubt is in the mind it is off to the local dealer or Ebay. Most of the coins that have been sold are coins that were replaced either in the PCGS or NGC registry set that is being built.
Is this a sane policy or just stupidity in this era of Slabbed coins and Registry Sets ?

However I think you should offer us everything with an accurate description. Only label those special coins "Forum Member Quality", which is a term you should trademark

I saw that coin, you beat me to it Carl, or this Carl might have added a Merc to his collection just for fun. Nice looking coin.
Anything I offer to sell here, was purchased for my personal enjoyment--and if it passed muster with me, I don't hesitate to offer it to others. Remember "If it's good enough for Clank--You can take it to the bank!"

Actually, FOM has his standards - it has to be modern & it has to be PCGS - so if you can meet his strict standards, you don't even have to worry about his "discerning eye" - that part's already been taken care of by the plastic holder
