my 48D Washie, fresh from the grading room..

This one has super clean fields with some Dizzy colors on the borderline perfect obverse, tough to find a distraction...
The reverse is white with some rim toning...... I was hoping for a ms67, but figured it would be a lock ms66. This one has
some super luster, the kind that I think PCGs looks for in a coin in a 7 holder, well, they gave this one a ms67......
Have a look at this top pop.... Its tough to capture the colors, but they are there....

Lucy: Great job on the 48(d)!!

A very underrated date in the silver Wash quarter series IMHO. I remember when the pop in PCGS-MS67 was near 0. A board member, "MS68", slabbed a 1948(d) quarter in ICG-MS68 and advertised it in Coin World (I think around $1500 which was a ton of money at that time). The top collector of that day essentially asked the seller to cross it down to PCGS-MS67 and he would pay the asking price and that is how one of the first 1948(d) quarters was made in PCGS-MS67 (then the second 48(d) from the SAME 1948 Mint set graded PCGS-MS67 and 2 MS67 coins were made from one incredible Mint set!).

At most, I believe -1- 1948(d) quarter exists in PCGS-MS67 that is blast white. This coin is exceedingly scarce in blast white MS67. image

Normally I'm not a huge fan of speckled toning. This coin, on the other hand, is super-yummy...nice even distribution, and as you somewhat demonstrated it looks like it's pretty colorful in person too, especially when viewed at different angles...nice score Lucy!
