1908 Gold Indian 2 1/2
Hello;
A couple of years ago I inherited a 1908 2 1/2 dollar gold piece from my grandmother. It is a family keepsake - as her father gave it to her sometime around the date it was first circulated. I do not know if this coin was ever in common circulation but to the untrained eye it is perfectly flawless under magnification. I do not plan to part with it - but still have a curious instinct to find out more, including what it might be worth. I have no idea how to tell if the coin is a proof, where it was minted, or any other interesting information that might be available. Browsing around on this website I am easily drawn into science of collecting - it's fascinating how much information one finds here. Anyway, my question would be - can anyone tell me a little about this little gem?
Sincerely grateful for any information,
Thomas Hutton

Here is a link that should give you some info. The $2.50 Indians are one of the toughest coins to grade unless you are an expert. Just a small difference in grade can affect the value greatly. Hope the link helps.
1908 2 1/2 Indian....cool coin
Depending on it's condition or if it's a proof or not it could range in value from $150 to $25,000
