making a jewelry charm out of a 1/10th oz. gold bullion

So I'll be at the Baltimore show tomorrow and I want to bring something back for the wife. She likes the Gauden desighn so I'm thinking about the above! Can a jeweler take this coin and make a spring action gold circumference ring around it, attach a loop(solder) for a chain without harming the coin? Has anyone ever done/seen this?

I don't think it's possible without leaving at least some evidence behind.

What you want is a bezel, I think. Goes around the coin's edge and has all the hardware for attaching to a chain. Coin isn't damaged.

    Something like this?

Put the exact thing together for my daughter when she graduated from college--the bezel and gold chain cost me more than the 1/10th once gold bullion coin. Lots of choices in the bezel, (which come in different diameters) some are very simple and others fairly ornate. Makes a really fine piece of jewelry--and doesn't harm the coin in any way.
    Curmudgeon in waiting!
