Was lurking across the street and found a link to this awesome coin.
Star* MS-68 Roosie
A beautiful coin. Somebody likes it at the initial bid of $800.

Very Nice!!
Why doesn't PCGS have the star designation?

I think PCGS gives collectors credit for having enough sense to see that a coin is choice.
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.

mdwoods- First off, LOVE your new Icon- stunning coin!
Secondly, I somewhat, although not strongly, disagree with your statement regarding the NGC STAR system.
It's easy for a Dealer who owns a coin to want to call it "PQ". It's easy for the owner of a coin to call it "PQ". But, for NGC to award a coin the STAR it must pass ALL three Graders as PQ and they do not have a vested interest in the coin.
It's a wild success for NGC and PCGS will oneday find a way to start their own designation of "PQ"
Sure, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and NGC is not playing up the STAR more than what it is, just another tool for the Collector to judge a coin on its merits and appeal.

Oh, NGC.
Nevermind.
If I had it my way, stupidity would be painful!
make full bands. As far as it being NGC, Here's a PC MS68 struck from a warn die. Also not full bands
