I wonder how many of those walkers are still in the OGHs with Jack’s provenance ….
Wondered the same thing. VERY few is my guess. I have only seen the 1921 66 (been off the market for nearly thirty years). It's still in the original holder. I know who the owner is. He posts here from time to time. I am not going to out him, unless he wants to chime in. The 1919 D 66 is a pop 1/0 and has been cracked out and is part of the Gerald Forsythe Set. Likewise with the 1917 S Obv 67 (also a pop 1/0)--It was cracked out, years ago, and was part of the Cajun Collection, until sold about 10 years ago, when Legend acquired it on behalf of Forsythe.

a 45p full band is a extreme conditional rarity and commands a high premium.... yeah a 45p in and of itself is common, but one with full rounded split bands is one of the toughest Winged Libertys to find......
Until this post I didn't realize I was reading a thread from 2003, Then was LucyBop, now we have ParadiseFound.
I was lucky enough to view ALL of Jack Lee’s walkers at Jay Parrino’s table back in 1996. I picked out what I believed to be his finest early walker for the assigned grade of all of them… the 1921 PCGS MS-66 walker. I certainly paid a premium price of $21,000 but well worth it long term. Still have it and CAC stickered in the same PCGS holder.

PCGS Pop 3/0….
CAC pop 1/0….
Price paid $21,000 but keep in mind it was back in 1997.
Amazing!
What’s also amazing was Jack’s eye, ability, and confidence to step up and buy these as raw coins, and later have them grade out as at or near the finest known specimens. And done in the pre-internet days.
Interesting…. The GBW 1921 PCGS MS-66 walker is no longer in the CAC population report nor does its serial number shows up in the CAC serial number search. So it is back to CAC 1/0.
By the way I took horrible photos with my older iphone but at least the amazing luster is quite apparent in my photo.

.
Agree. It looks like that coin is now in the #1 Forsythe set and it appears to be the coinfacts 'plate' coin. Below are links to the set and coin and the HA auction. The contact marks on the skirt below and left of the W in We and near the bottom of the skirt appear to confirm the same coin. Has new cert (regrade?) and maybe not sent back to cac. PC pop now reads as 4/0.

You beat me to the punch. Definitely the same coin and likely re-graded and Trueviewed but never resubmitted to CAC. Or could’ve possibly failed the second time around, since it would’ve been a new grading event and not a re-sticker.

Did you mean to say $121,000?
So what did happened to Jay?
jom
Got into comics some time ago, haven’t seen nor heard anything about him since.
Read ‘em and weep (can you imagine a choice AU 1793 half cent today for $19k???):

The Ex: G B W specimen is also CAC stickered, though not as nice as your jack Lee example, in my opinion.

The HA auction and the obverse picture without the holder that shows the contact marks a little better.

Once a coin stickers I leave it alone. Especially a OGH.
But I truly believe it will be the first 1921 to plus sticker. But definitely not a 67.
@breakdown who knows walkers quite well is the only poster to see my 1921 walkers in person at the Parsippany NJ show . He liked it.
It has uncommon luster for a Walker from the twenties. The nicest 1921 I ever saw.
