I just got my NIKON COOLPIX 4500!!! First pictures inside!!! (Actually there now!!!)
Man, what can I say? This camera is simply FABULOUS!!! Here are my first pictures- the coins were placed on my bed with a reading lamp nearby... all pictures were with the camera held by hand, no tripod or any steadying device... I can't wait for something to hold the camera in place! Please tell me what you think of my shots!
By the way- I must say... compared to a scanner, the luster picked up is amazing! People aren't kidding when they say that's a huge difference between digicams and scanners!
A nicely toned 1945 cent (BU, from TomB)- the obverse has most of the toning, but that shot didn't really come out

A PCGS PR69DCAM West Point Half

One of my toned eagles- the color didn't show really well on either, but the immense detail that the camera picks up is evident... man I love this thing! (The camera and coin
)

I'm holding one of those mystery box auctions! L@@K!

Some History from the Darkside

Away from coins...
My gecko, Oscar- just about 5 1/2 years with me

Spot, the tortoise, doing what he does best- staying put in the heat

Speedy, the guinea pig, who knew he was having a portrait taken... sorry about the water spots on the side of his cage... had him for nearly 5 years, too

This is my room... where I sleep, think of coins, post, and look at airplane pictures
I like airplanes!

Sorry about Mike Richter- had the poster for a while so it stays... I still hate the Rangers

My scale models... all hand built except the two tiny 747s

Enjoy!
Jeremy
PS- these were all done point-and-shoot... no reading of the manual required

No- I didn't show the floor... lots of crap... books, paper, clothes, boxes, catalogs... you get the idea
Marc
<< <i>Wow those are some really nice details on some neat looking coins. Good job on the photos! I`m impressed with the Eagles. I`m surprised to see that you could pick that much up in the fields in the second picture of the Eagle. >>
The details are better in the full image (obviously)- that image is about 1/16 the full size image, which is 2204 pixels across.
Jeremy
The detail in the SAE is very impressive.
Very nice.

Cool shots. The manual is more like a book. I have been learning mine the last few days. What a camera
The white balance deal is really great. What a difference over a scanner. Why did I wait so long.

I vaguely remember you talking about buying this camera in an earlier thread. Where did you end up buying it, and what was the price if I may ask??

<< <i>My cat would love your pets. She says they look very tasty. I've seen her eat several lizzards.
Don't make me kick your cat!
We'll use our hands and hearts and if we must we'll use our heads.
BTW, a Phillies pennant?! I'm surprised!
<< <i>Excellent pics Jeremy! If your 4500 came with a 16MB CF card like mine did, you'll be upgrading it soon. I bought a 256K card.

I won it at a carnival in Toronto about 8 years ago. All of these pics were taken on a 340mb Microdrive... I'll be getting a 256mb flash card soon, as well.
Jeremy
Very very nice pictures! You're well on your way! Keep it up!
Pennies make dollars, and dollars make slabs!
