1869 Half Dime PCGS Proof 64

This coin is a good example of why you should cultivate strong friendships in the coin world....it was offered to me, and no one else, by a
friend.

He asked me what I would pay for it, I told him and he even knocked a little off. I was thinking about offering it on eBay starting it at one cent with no reserve.

    Yes, and in order to cultivate those relationships you must realize that dealer most make a living just like everyone else. When I get a coin like this I think of my serious collectors first. That means that the guys who are willing to pay a fair price for a good coin get the first shot. Those who pull out the Blue Sheet and say that's all they will pay NEVER have a chance.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals.     Boy, that looks like a nice upgrade for my washed out 1870 in 61....

    Is the reverse toned as well? My guess is that it is toned and we all would like to see it.

    Hehehe.......that is the BIGGEST half dime i've ever seen!

    I'll try to list it tonight or this coming Thursday, ending on a Sunday evening, starting at one cent with no reserve.

    I'll post the reverse later.

    I also bought a barber half in old green label pcgs proof 62 that is a really incredible coin.
