TNA Show update

It was a good show - spent about 5 hours wandering the bourse Friday. Met JBStevens, TBT and Blade. Saw Adrian but he was busy wheelin' and dealin' so I chose not to interrupt him (did you ever get your spoon??!?!?). Did get to see Stephanie up close - she looks better in person than any photograph could show
Lots of good stuff - the toners on Adrian's, Brian's and JB's tables were awesome!!! I shouldv'e worn my sunglasses!!!

Picked up a very nice '34 Texas half, a super '26 Oregon (both blast white!), 3 modern commems and some darkside coppers.
Only disturbing thing was a conversation that I overheard at one of the tables between a dealer and someone else in the business. They were talking about one of the companies in California going bankrupt and about how much the man was owed. When they started talking about how he could get his money back, the man (not the dealer) said that since they only shipped him the coins so that he could do his 'thing' to them, he had no claim to any of thier inventory and couldn't get his money that way. The dealer looked shocked and then the man said no again, he just did his thing and then they shipped them to someone else to 'put the color on them' (his exact words!).
I don't know which shocked me more - that they would discuss doctoring the coins or that they would discuss it openly on a coin show bourse. Unfortunately, I did not get the dealers name (he didn't have a sign on the table), but I would recognize him if I saw him again.
Other than that incident, it was a lot of fun and a great show.

I ended up only making one purchase through the show, a 1926s Oregon beaming with luster and some goldish rim toning (I don't know how it is only MS64, because it really has no visible flaws). I almost bought an 1828 AU58 bust half, but decided against it. I saw lots of nice coins, and talked with quite a few nice people.
Overall, a very good show.
