Life is getting too simple. We need something NEW!

We've all seen it. Someone is looking at a glistening Merc dime and people on the other side of the room are running for the emergency room to save their eyesight from the glare of the brilliant 19mm coin shining across the room. Luster is running out of the slab and dripping on the table. The cartwheel effect has rolled over the dealer's ham sandwich and the sprinkler system is about to deploy from the heat of the moment.

THEN IT HAPPENS.

The coin is turned over and............AAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHH !!!!! The ....BANDS....are not FULLY split!
There is a one half millimeter area where the line is there but not as deep as the Grand Canyon.

UGH! What a DOG! Spend it! Use it to make change!

Or same thing with a Frankie without a .............full............bell..............line..........!

SWOON! PLOP!

Could everyone carefully examine their Lincoln Memorial cents today? There MUST be one where Lincoln's shoelaces are visible in the monument. SOME way to determine that all OTHER specimens are unworthy and deficient. Mere SLUGS not deserving of any notice.

Please look. We need another criterion for excellence.

Absolutely! And I have been picking up those gems without FB, too. Got 2 awesome mercs, raw that are 66+ quality. One has a nice dark rainbow crescent toning on the obv! image

Could be worse. I've seen a number of SLQs slabbed as FH when they either clearly did not merit this designation, or had a pin-hole where the ear should have been. Keep in mind that these particular SLQs go for 2X or 3X in the same condition with the FH designation (where is the emotion for "I need a barf bag?)
    "Vou invadir o Nordeste,
    "Seu cabra da peste,
    "Sou Mangueira......."

Elcontador...... I omitted the SLQ......THERE is an example of a real reason to consider a real NEGATIVE for a poor strike.

I especially like the SCOOP heads.

    LOL!

I know a place where you can get back to just enjoying the coin ... three guesses where it is (and the first two don't count)! image
