Poll: Do you think the Washington Eagle reverse will return after the States quarters/territories a

Not a simple yes or no, but do you want the eagle reverse back for a few more years, perhaps through
2010 or 11 or maybe as part of a proof or mint set only, or do you favor a complete new quarter design?
Perhaps using Laura Fraser's bust as it appears on the modern gold Washington commem?

The previous eagle will probably not return and thats a shame. It's the dead president on the obverse that needs to be replaced.

How about 1 year with the Heraldic Eagle, then replace with a new design altogether.

Regarding dead Presidents -- if we were to choose one dead President to keep on our coins as a symbol of liberty, Washington is certainly the one.

It is time that all of our coinage is redesigned. However, it is rather scary to think of what we might come up with.

We desparately need a complete overhaul of our coins even more than we did in 1999.
It is past time that we get designs which are more up to date. The questions are will we
get them and will they really be better. Having the states designs is certainly a relief from
the monotony of the past couple decades, but they are not a cure all. If the nickel and quar-
ter both return to their old designs by 2009 then the redesign effort will have failed yet
    again.

The eagle reverse clad quarter will hardly be rare as a type coin even in MS-68, but if it does
not make a return then you'll see type collectors scrambling to find examples.

I think we will see the eagle return as will George, however, within a year or two I believe the US Mint will want to replace the design seeing as the SQ program did well ( for them anyway)image. Most likely will be a big hoo-hoo over replacing George, and Virginia will certainly throw a big stink, but I think it will come to pass and we will have a new design by 2010. JMO...image

Actually - there's no reason why we can't continue to honor presidents on coins, but the idea of just having the bust of the president is kinda boring. Why not have an artistic rendition of Washington crossing the Delaware, or Lincoln delivering the Gettysburg address? Something with some life to it, rather than just a bust?

How about the eagle reverse that was on the modern Washington gold commem. From my understanding it was one of the entrants in the design competition for the Washington quarter. I thinks it's beautiful.
