Submission Question on Philipine/US Coins

Do coins issued under US government for the Philipines get submitted as world coins or US coins? Yesterday I found a really nice 1947-S MacArthur issue Fifty Centavos and One Peso - but was wondering as to how to submit these.

Thanks!

Frank

    Have you asked the Darksiders?

  • I'd imagine they should be world submissions.

    Frank--

The 47-S Centavo and Peso are not considered US issues. So you would have to submit them in the World tier. I have two in at the moment at NGC. I went that route because at the time I thought PCGS did not have a foreign economy tier anymore. I have since learned that there is one.

Edited to add-- from 1903 to 1945 coins were minted in the US for use in the Philippines. These coins are now considered to be American issues. Anything after that--Philippines.
