NCS-Will they do this?

Say you have a coin that is already holdered and you want it conserved, can you tell them only to do it if it crosses to a NGC holder at the same grade or higher? ------------BigE

Yes, they have a grade guarantee program. I believe there is an additional small fee for the service.

NGC has a service that will guarantee the grade for a 1% total value fee of the coin. I think that is how it works.

Yep. I just pulled out an NCS form, and it's called "grade protection", and is 1% of declared value.

No, only if they can "conserve" it. Keep in mind if they think that they can and they screw up, you will still get the coin back in a slab with the same grade but it might look FUBAR.

If they feel they can't conserve it do they still charge the conservation fee plus the one percent?---------BigE

No one percent charge in that case. Only if they decide they can conserve it. I think. Best option is to call them.

They charge even if they don't conserve it. It's a two part process; evaluation and then, if deemed appropriate, conservation. Evaluation is 1% of FMV, and conservation is 1.5% of FMV. Both have a $5 minimum.

The 1% for grade protection would be in addition to the above and would only be applicable if the coin is conserved..

If you get the whole enchilada done, that's $35 on a $1,000 coin (3.5%). If they're any good, that seems reasonable to me.

They are good, and it's a screaming bargain. Click the larger image for my signature coin and you'll notice some glue spotting on the reverse at the very top. It's gone, and NCS is to thank for that.

So NCS worked on this coin, prior to be submitted to PCGS for grading? Then this Population 8/0 coin was the result of NCS' work. Interesting.

NCS-Will they do this?
