I'm K6AZ's friend with the Jefferson Nickels

Hello,

In an earlier thread Eric posted the long-awaited results of his economy submission, which included six Jefferson Nickels he submitted on my behalf. I was quite flattered by some of the comments in that original thread, and Eric told me that post generated quite a bit of private interest in the coins as well. He suggested I poke my head in here to introduce myself and field any offers Just as a refresher here are the results he posted:

90069363 1938-D 5C Jefferson MS67
90069364 1939 5C Reverse of 1940 MS66FS
90069365 1945-D 5C MS66FS
90069366 1952-S 5C MS66
90069367 1959 5C MS65FS
90069368 1964 5C MS66

To give a little background, those coins are part of a set of full-step nickels I assembled in the mid to late 1990's. I built the set with an emphasis on step count over technical grade, and generally acquired the coins at shows throughout New England and from searching OBW rolls (the 1964 above came from an original roll). A few coins came from Ramapaugh Trading Company Nickel Express auctions - in fact, the '52-S above was purchased from them as an MS63+/MS65 5-step coin.

With the exception of one lonely 1922-D Lincoln Cent several years ago, this was my first PCGS submission. I tried to submit only the very best coins from the set, those with the best combination of technical grade, step count, and overall rarity. I felt each of those coins had a great shot at a full-step designation - I suppose as a first attempt three out of six wasn't too bad. It looks to me like the numerical grade of the three non-FS coins might have been bumped a point for being so close to FS.

I haven't added to the set in over five years, and I decided with the Registry Set craze in full bloom, now was the perfect time to part with these coins. I'll listen to any and all offers between now and April 25, at which point I should have the coins back in my possession. The rest of my set is still available raw, if you have a specific coin you are looking for feel free to inquire as well.

Again, my humblest thanks for the interest in my coins, and I'm happy for the opportunity to place them with other appreciative collectors.

Hi Sean. I remember you from the early days of another online club. You sold me some stuff, must had been some kind of 1997 error cents because you sell a lot of pennies.
Good to see some more CONECA members here.
Change that we can believe in is that change which is 90% silver.
