I have a gorgeous Type 1 for a type coin, and 2 Type 2s. One is a 1936 D, the other a 36 S. They are both in PCGS MS66 holders with a "Benson" pedigree. I would love to find a 1936 P mint Buffalo with a Benson pedigree to round out the set. mdwoods
yes mike, it is the same Bill. I regret not buying a second one. You had one for sale just a couple of years ago. I should have sold some common ones and bought the rare ones.
I like Buffalos too...I always get ones that are a bit pricey though and then I can't keep them. This one should have been too pricey for me but someone was scared of the color or something :

This one made the grade (but then again it is PQ even for the grade...and it is a D/S) otherwise I'd HAVE to keep it; my images just don't even start to do it justice:

Haven't started the registry game with the buffs, but I have been collecting them for awhile. Just started a new raw toned set. Got a killer '13 type 1 with magenta/blue tone at the last show...

Thanks for the kind words Glenn...the biggest problem I have with this series is that it is 4th on my list after my 1872 year set, Seated quarter set and Lincoln set so you can imagine how often I have money left to spend on Buffalos. Did you get a chance to see the original toned 1913-D T2 that I posted over on the US coin forum under the recent purchases thread? I have a good home in mind for that one and if all goes well it will be resting comfortably in a great set within a week or two.
I also received pictures of Caitlin's NEWP and will have it up soon.

Here is a killer 1935-s pcgs ms 67 Buffalo. This coin blows away all my other ms 67's this is a 68 looking coin in a 67 holder. the image does not do the coin justice as it is a real blazer (frosty) with light gold and light blue hues mixed together for real flashy color. Caitlin you would flip over this one!
I know enough about imaging to understand what a coin must look like in person based on the images and I can honestly say that cladmaker's 35-S is KILLER (and it's a 35-S!). I have seen a good handful of MS67 coins...and only two hold a candle to that one in technical merits (as always just guessing when comparing to a scan but trying an educated guess). One of those two just doesn't have the luster or character to match and the other one is much more common but certainly not any better luster than this 35-S on that one either but possibly just as good.
Cladmaker...can you email me larger image files of that one? I would love to take a closer look.

well, now i guess i'm officially a buffalo collector as i just bought my first slabbed one today it's definitely one of the prettiest i've seen, a 1913 type 2 in ms66. graded by pci but even they get a few right sometimes, i'm definitely planning on crossing it soon. the only indian i've ever seen with blonde hair, hehe.
wish i knew how to take decent pictures with my camera. it's an hp720, if anyone has dealt with one of those and can help out, i'd appreciate it.
Roger Thanks for posting an image of my 17d buff I really appreciate it. Also you have an awesome looking 13d and would love to see it sometime. I love the toning and the strike looks great as well, very nice coin.
Cladmaker Nice looking buff, I'd like to see more of your coins from your buff registry set, don't be bashfull now . I have an 1936d ms68 buff I'm hoping to have posted here soon. This coin will make you fall out of your chair so you better hold on. Let me know if you think it's worthy of it's grade. I know you've seen this coin before but I would like everyone to see it , you don't see these types of coins often enough.
A collector of high grade TONED BUFFALO NICKELS ,working on a PCGS REGISTRY SET.

Welcome to the Buffalo Nickel post OneYearTypes and Grip!! I started this post because no one was posting Buffalo Nickel pictures. Now we got some posted on two forums. Please keep posting because the Buff is obviously one beautiful all american coin!! Glenn
Cladmaker did you by any chance relieve a mutual friend of ours of a MS67 1930S Buff ? Talked to him a week ago and he said he had sold the coin. I'm guessing it was sold at the PNNA show where both of you were in attendence.
Hey Ken, I never caught wind of a 1930-s ms 67 buffalo at the pnna show. Someone should have told me about it then! I would have probably paid alot more than they got for it if it was sold at that show!!! Ken, See you at the coin show at the portland expo center this weekend? cladmaker
Hey thanks for the reminder. Probably should go and see what is out there I guess. 10 AM I presume ? Heck maybe I will pick up a Buff just so I can join in here.
The 30S was the one that Steve Jones had. You know the one in the NGC Slab. I believe he said you had seen it before. Nice coin with some color but making it into a PCGS Slab might have been tough. Just a opinion mind you.
Hey Ken, That one Steve Jones has is in a ngc ms 66 holder not a 67 holder and i told him about 6 monthes ago i would buy it if he got it in a pcgs holder. You got me awful excited about mentioning a ms 67 (thinking pcgs holder) There was a 1930-s ms 67 pcgs made at the St. Louis central states show a couple of weeks ago. pop 3 coin now. Hope to make my ms 66 1930-s a ms 67 so who ever got the one made at central states show can feel justified they paid to much for their's 10:00 show opens, closes at 6:00 pm and i have 5 or 6 super nice buff's for you to pick from Ken.

When I read that first post about the 30-S I felt so bad I couldn't think of a response. First everything we already talked over about that date and then to hear what Ken said. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that you can make yours go.
