Please, please, please [!!!!] fix your website so it moves a little quicker. I tried to view the lots for sale in the upcoming auction and after waiting multiple minutes, multiple times, for the pages to load I gave up. image

EVP - at work I have a T-1. The delay is just as bad as at home on the dial up.

    Which browser are you using?

I remember having this same problem. I switched browsers and
the speed increased dramatically. (I'm sure this could have been
resolved by a change in settings of the browser, but changing browsers
was easier than getting to the root of the problem).

I too have T-1 here at work, and can remember the Heritage site moving like molasses in the past.

I haven't experienced that. While it does take a little longer than most sites, it's usually no more than 10 seconds for me, using a cable modem.

This has been a continuous ongoing problem since at least 1999. Furthermore, their site routinely locks up in the last 20 minutes of the weekly EI's.
  • tradedollarnuttradedollarnut Posts: 20,162 ✭✭✭✭✭
Load times ranged from 11 seconds to 28 seconds for a basic category search in the auction catalog. Unacceptable.
  • ElcontadorElcontador Posts: 7,571 ✭✭✭✭✭
Ditto re what TDN said. Also, there were a few lots I wanted to see which indicated that they had images, but when I went to have a look, there weren't any images there.
    "Vou invadir o Nordeste,
    "Seu cabra da peste,
    "Sou Mangueira......."
  • I'm convinced that something hidden is at work here. I'm emailing tradedollarnut directly to work this out. I wouldn't at all mind posts or direct emails (brian@heritagecoin.com) with how fast the site appears to be working for you right now.

Believe me - my goal is zero seconds between your click and our coins. Nothing less.

    Thanks.

  • The varied experiences here lead me to believe there is a network problem somewhere. Some of you see it as fast and some of you see it as slow or even unavailable. If any of you have the time and you're savvy enough on the computer, please try the following. It would be most beneficial. Thanks.

    1. Open an MS-DOS window. (You can find it on your program list on the START menu, or choose START...RUN...and type in CMD and hit OK.
    2. Type "tracert heritagecoin.com > heritagecoin.txt. Hit RETURN/ENTER.
    3. When your C: prompt returns (it may take 30 seconds to 2 minutes), email me the attachment c:heritagecoin.txt.

    Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

ps. i rarely have problems with the speed of heritagecoin.com except that function for buying after the auction is over never works. and the browsers do make a diference too, IE 6.0 craps out all the time when i use it so this past january i switched to mozilla. i love that browser... tabbed browsing image

This seems excessive to me... Not so much the time between hops, but that there'd be so many hops once we get into what appears to be Heritage's regional network provider. I am, btw, using a cable modem. My connection from my PC to the outside world is WiFi (11Mbps) to my Linksys and then 10Mbps to my RR hub.

Heritage has NO control over what happens BEFORE you hit their computer. Not sure who to blame but it's not them.

I use Heritage's site a lot. Several times a week in the archives and participant in many online auctions. 80% of the time I have no problems. Archive searches takes approx 10 seconds - not unreasonable for 300,000+ records. Images load in 1 second to 5 seconds. However, the other 20% is just terrible. Images lock for 30 seconds. I get partial loads. Archives take up to a minute.

I have RR cable, so I realize that some of the slow images could be on my end due to cable speed degradation during peak times. But it drives me insane in the last 15 minutes of an auction when it takes over a minute to refresh a page and sometimes I can't get pages at all. In fact, one time I was prevented from bidding on a coin I really wanted and there was over 30 minutes left in the auction.

To Heritage's credit, their archives are a fantastic resource. I find them extremely valuable. Just imagine if every auction company did this, or if someone created a consolidated auction search tool for all companies. Nirvana.
