I can't believe we are still debating whether Jack Beymer is worthy of doing business with. I have dealt with Jack and Sondra for many years now, and I have always enjoyed that relationship. I do not waste Jack's time with small talk at his bourse table, as I understand that he is busy, but he has always answered my questions and been very professional with me. Sondra is a delight to talk with, and always greets everyone with a smile and a pleasant comment. At a recent FUN Show, I had a lengthy discussion with Jack about half dime varieties, including the 1848/8/7 which he is credited with discovering. Jack is a very knowledgable dealer, who attributes all of his own coins (who else does that?), and he rarely if ever makes a mistake. If his prices seem a bit high, try doing a side-by-side comparison with coins from another dealer. Not all AUs are created equal. You will find that he deals in problem free coins that are worth owning. Each of us must make our own decisions as to the suitability of dealers we buy from, but certainly you should not have the slightest reservation about dealing with Jack Beymer.

I've heard that dealers at the Long Beach show used to have a bet to see if anyone could buy anything from Jack or Julian (Liedman) and flip it at a profit.
This proved to be an impossible task.
I've bought from both of 'em, and received decent coins. Not a place to go for bargains, however.
I still have receipts from when I bought coins from Jack in the mid 1970's.
Always pretty fair with one notable exception.
MY only complaint in 30 years of buying from him is that after I called him regarding some PCGS slabbed 1982 no P dimes in a Coin World ad and two days went by before we finalized the deal he raised the prices on me since his costs were rising and his supply source was drying up. I felt he was out of line in this case since I was waiting on his call back to finalize the deal.
He had never done that before and I was mildly upset about it but still finalized the deal.
But overall, he is a good honest dealer and you get what you pay for.
I find myself wondering if Jack is a lurker here and has read this thread. Somehow I seriously doubt it but ya never know. Good or bad I know it would be weird to read a thread like this about me.
I've bought several coins from Jack and flopped them for a profit. After pricing a coin, sometimes it's funny to see the expression on his face when you say "I'll take it". I don't think he likes it when a dealer buys out of his inventory. He thinks he either missed something or had it priced to cheaply.
When buying he doesn't hesitate to pay strong money if it's a coin he needs.
He has one of the most amazing inventories of collector coins. Multiple grades of most dates in many different series.

I saw him at the MSNS show this weekend. Maybe it is a good
thing I didn't approach his table to ask about anything.

ANACS net graded it.... cleaned. ( I did not pay "cleaned" $$ for it either- Full Retail is always what to expect from Beymers.)
and they're cold.

Honest, experienced, quality guy, quality material
but he's in no hurry to sell anything, expect to pay retail. No bargain hunting there.
