1804 Capped Bust $10 PF64 Cameo NGC

TextHi All, I just thought everyone would enjoy seeing a very special coin we recently purchased for a client. As you can see it's the fabulous 1804 Capped Bust $10 PF64 Cameo. This magnificent rarity was also in a PCGS holder (PR64 5469315). It's beyond words to describe the beauty of this true work of numismatic art. This coin is a very high end specmin for sure. I hope you enjoy this "Mona Lisa" of Proof coinage.

I was offered this coin several months before their client bought it and held it longingly in my hand for what seemed like an eternity. I can vouch for the quality of the coin - it is a stunner! Unfortunately for me, it came down to this piece or the Eliasberg 1884 trade dollar and we all know I'm a soft touch for a nice trade dollar! image

So incredible that it looks surreal. Was that part of the King of Siam set? What year was that coin minted? Mid 1830's? How about a large blow up of it so we can use it as wallpaper.

    OH MY GOD!
The early ten dollar bust has always been my favorite design, but to see it as a gorgeous proof, OH MY GOD!
    Thanks or sharing!!!!
  • It was minted in 1834 one of 4 coins. It's not from the King Of Siam set, actually this coin is far superior in all aspects to the one in the set. The eye appeal is "out of site" it just gives you shivvers looking at it.

rainbowroosies Roosie dime set hands down. I'd even through in colorfulcoins set to boot.

    you mean

    juuuuuuuust a little outside

  • Hehehe....there was a time when 2.2 "LARGE" might mean $2,200.00

    Now it means $2,200,000.00.....OUCH!

Excuse me, er, ah............might you consider a LONG-term layaway on that coin? Perhaps $1,000 per month until my unconcieved, unborn grandkiddies are long dead from old age?

    Great.......where do i send the 1st payment!

I would without any regret trade my entire collection for that coin, if given the choice (although that would be a horrible deal for the other guyimage)

That's a breathtaking coin! Woo woo woo woo!

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • Andy....my middle class status be damned! I make you the same offer on this coin as i did above in another post! (A slighltly extended layaway! image ) _____Joe T

  • Lovely coins, all!

One of the truly cool things about this community is the ability to see such coins - coins that not only would I never be able to hold in my hands, I would not ever be able to own. Such a thing is a true treat.
