We always hear about bad ebayers. How about listing some good ones you know.

This guy has great feedback, and often has very nice high grade PCGS moderns for good prices. I have dealt with him and been pleased.

Besides the good guys on this forum, I would also recommend DHRC and Libertynumismatics.

Don't forget about our very own Wondercoin, Asdfy, and Datentype! Always high end material and service. Dave
  • I would highly recommend buying from greattoning on ebay. On all of the coins I have boughten from him they were accurately described and looked just like the pictues he included in the auctions. image

I have done lots of transactions with folks on the boards and have found each one to be a true gem! (MS65+!)image

I've also done business with DHRC and a few small shops that have sold me proof sets for my recent quests, such as hucky - they've been quite nice.

I just received a coin from Libertynumismatics today: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3013475605

His coins ALWAYS look better than the SCANS (why he doesn't use photos of his toned coins, I don't know!). For example, this wartime Jefferson has greens and reds not visible in his auction scan.
He offers FAST shipping and smooth communications. He is one of eBay's finest. I'm grateful to have discovered him and to read of your confirmation on this thread!

Just made a purchase from a "chugalug" on 3/24. Paid immediately w/Paypal. I emailed the guy to make sure everything went okay and to ask when he would ship. Guy would not answer my email to even acknowledge my question. By day 3 I was a little hot, looked up his number and called, only to get an answering machine. That evening, postwoman delivered the coin. Outstanding delivery time, but I sure don't like being ignored. image

I just had a very pleasant transaction with MANOFCOINS.

he mistakingly sent me the wrong dime (same year/grade/service). Sent me correct one and told me to choose which one I liked and send the other back and even enclosed 2.20 for return insured shipping!

You're right about the quality of the scans for libertynumismatics, I always love being pleasantly surprised.

  • Anaconda.rare.coins (Adrian Crane) has been a reliable and proficient supplier of top grade material to me for about 2 years now. I've purchased maybe 15 coins from him, have 4 more remaining to be paid for and delivered, and have never been dissappointed with a coin! But then........most of you already know Adrian to be THAT kind of a coin dealer. Very generous in his terms to me also!

Someone else already mentioned Ira Stein (iras4 on ebay), and i would concur. I bought my 1877 MS64RB Indian cent (PCGS) from him.......and it blew me away along with several other dealers who have seen it! Didn't make any friends, though......it wasn't for sale! He also sold me a PCGS MS64RB 1955 Double Die Lincoln cent that was 80% red and very attractive. He allowed me a 3 month layaway on these two coins, among others......and allowed me to aquire coins i most likely would have needed to pass up without the consideration.

Though i have purchased from a few others.......none have stood out like these two in my experience.
