    that patterns site KILLS ME ! ! ! i'm a pattern collector on a halfdime budget image I tried getting into the game last year and got outbid by 50-70% on a coin i was told was a "LOCK AT $3,000" and sold for 5k image

    Yep!! Shriver gave me nightmares for years....thought about collecting Medusa coins instead.....and Maria's gonna be a chip
    off the "old crow"!!! good topic for a Halloween thread.....

    I was unware that any of these clad patterns were in private hands. I also thought that the Treasury has given collectors problems over the privte ownership of very modern patterns. These certainly are worthy collectables. I just did not know that any of them were in private hands.
    Retired dealer and avid collector of U.S. type coins, 19th century presidential campaign medalets and selected medals. In recent years I have been working on a set of British coins - at least one coin from each king or queen who issued pieces that are collectible. I am also collecting at least one coin for each Roman emperor from Julius Caesar to ... ?

    Boiler, I believe Skipper (Alan Hale) was the model for that piece.

    mrdq, Bargains do come along sometimes, but (coming from me this next statement is laughable) you have to be patient.

    You know that coins that ugly shouldn't be shown or talked about this early in the morning....actually never would be even better.
