I finished my very first set today!

Of all the coins I've collected, bought, sold, auctioned, given away, handled, ogled, and touched, I have never finished an entire set of a coin.

Thanks to a great deal with IrishMike, I have finished my MS Sacagawea set! (It actually registers on the Registry page! #22 image). The proofs are also done. This is really a monumental achievement for me, especially considering the one coin that I had not yet found at a price for which I could raise the money.

After I get my upgraded 2000 P&D and my upgraded 2001-D (Sorry AgentJim, I "MADE" these image), the set might actually jump one or tow places.

What fun.

Now back to selling my heart out to help pay the bills! image

Congratulations on finishing your set! It must be a satisfying feeling.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

  • Thank you Kranky! It is actually a pretty cool feeling after years of coin collecting.

Congrats! I am working on a 1792-current type set, which means I expect to be done in 2037!

  • Congradulation! I am working on a major variety type gold set from post 1900. And I estimate I will be done in 2008.

Way to go Jimmy! I'll bet they're a pretty bunch to look at. It's got to feel good!

  • Thanks to all! Thanks Clankeye. They are beauties. My old 2001D in the set was my first Sacagawea grading effort, and came in at 64, but it's big sister is coming back from PCGS soon, then they'll all match.

I actually feel like I did when I got my first 'teens Mercury at the local coin shop (that I bought with lawn-mowing earnings).

    Congrats on yer perseverence.
I finished a basic set of Morgans myself this week. Still a bit of tweaking to do but a nice feeling.

You can fool man but you can't fool God! He knows why you do what you do!
  • Thanks to all.

I'm seriously considering one of: Proof Jeffs, Proof Lincolns (that's a real hard one), or finishing out my proof Kennedys. The proof Washingtons have a special place in my collecting heart... Hard to say what the next step is.

Budget says it will probably be the Jeffs first, then the Kennedys...

    Overall, this is cool stuff!

P.S. I'm still stuffing my G-VG folder of Mercs. It doesn't have a slot for the 41/42 overdate (whew!) but that 16D is way off in the future somewhere...

Congrats Ursabear. I'm two coins away from completing my Franklin Set and feeling the excitment.
