An open apology to Quattrocoins

I want to apologize for my recent behavior towards one of our Board Members. In a recent transaction, I was out of line by asking for "a little more" after we were in agreement on a price for a particular coin. I was obviosuly misinformed of the price at which I sold this coin ($300+ below the last 2 similar coins sold on eBay) but realize the err of my ways.

I just want everyone to know that I had the best intentions of helping a Board Member add to his Registry set with a nice coin. I could have easily sold the coin for more to another Registry set member who I had been in contact with awhile back. However, I agreed to sell the coin to Quattro since he asked. I am not that experienced in selling coins, although I guarantee I will be better at it in the future. Especially after this transaction.

I will continue to enjoy this great hobby and hope to be a better friend to Quattro and to all other Board Members (of which I have not had any other bad experiences).

Quattro need not respond or even accept my apology. I just wanted everyone to know "lesson learned".

I have no idea who either one of you are, but I do know that it takes a big man to appologize and courage is admirable.

WWQ- You've done the right thing.

Next time you will know to research the going price, prior to making a counter offer.

Glad you've extended the hand. image

    WWQ--
An apology is a good and noble thing. I respect you for offering it, and I would be surprised if Quattrocoins would not readily accept it.
Man, this hobby has a learning curve. Ain't it grand?

  • WWQ........a costly lesson learned is one not soon forgotten! I'll often pass along a good deal in estate jewelry to another when i've aquired the piece at a good price.......but i know that going in. Looking for top dollar invariably means a much longer holding period!

It always hurts a little more when we find out AFTER a transaction that the deal was "especially" attractive to the buyer. Usually it means i was a bit lazy, perhaps, in not knowing exactly what i had for sale in the first place. Research pays dividends. Remember the person who bought an old frame on the cheap? The one that had an ORIGINAL signed copy of the Declaration of Independence hidden in the back that sold for BIG bucks. Imagine how THAT seller feels!

    BTW.....you're a class act!

    Classy move, WWQ.

New collectors, please educate yourself before spending money on coins; there are people who believe that using numismatic knowledge to rip the naïve is what this hobby is all about.

It was always my intent to do the right thing! Which, in the end I did. I am happy to oblige a fellow Board Member and help build his Registry Set, which I see is coming along nicely.
